Giving and Receiving!

I was very patient and managed to wait until Christmas day to open my presents from my Secret Santa. I was thrilled with my wonderful gifts all the way from Sweden and felt very spoiled indeed. Thank you so much Ulla I LOVE them! They are so exquisitely made and the fabric is stunning.

My presents also arrived safely at Darlene's in USA. I had made her a felted bag and included some other bits and pieces like a calendar, buttons, notebook and fabric.

Feeling Christmasy!

I am on holidays now and can concentrate on all things Christmasy! Towards the last week of school I had a smile on my face everytime I turned into the road where my school is. It is a lovely street anyway with lots of big trees and character homes but lately there has been an added bonus. Each year many residents tie big red bows around the trees in front of their house! This year there was more than ever.

Another Post Office Visit

After a hectic day I rushed off to the post office to mail my holiday swap ornaments. I lined up, as you do this time of year and tipped the contents of my bag onto the counter-9 little packages destined for various places around the globe. "You will have to fill out these customs declarations" says the post office person-"there is a table over there". Off I went with my paper work and proceeded to fill out the important information-over and over again! After awhile I began to feel like a naughty school girl who had to write out lines!Whew!! All finished-then a bit more lining up, show the ID and I was done!

A couple of doors down(I wonder why I chose this post office to go to!!) there is a patchwork and quilting shop who just happened to be having a "fat quarter frenzy"sale! I happily walked out with some bargain fat quarters and a good luck cat for my  Kris Kringle at school.

Busy!

I think I need another weekend!Things are a bit hectic around here and winding down towards the end of the school year. I still managed to spend a bit of time browsing my local monthly market and my weekly produce market.I do love a good market!

I came across this interesting shell spoon that I just had to buy. Does this mean as well as all my other collections that I am now a collector of spoons?

Christmas Postcards

I have finished and sent my Christmas postcards. They are going to crafters in Australia mostly. Two though are on their way overseas-one to California and one to The Netherlands. They were fun to make and thanks to Nikki for organising the swap. The idea was not to buy anything but use what you already had.

I made my brother and his wife an autumny quilt some time ago so I had quite a bit of left over green fabric. I have also made a purple and red quilt so I had quite a lot of red left over-the perfect scraps for something Christmasy! I used sample upholstery fabric from school for the little trees and I think every crafter has somes beads and stars somewhere in their stash!

Now each day I will eagerly check the post box for postcards sent to me! What fun! Now I'm off to work on my ornaments for another swap!
