Happy New Year!
The celebrations, the visits and visitors, the eating and drinking are slowing down around here now!It is wonderful being on holidays and enjoying this time of year-though the weather has been scorching! Thank goodness we live near the beach as the morning and evening swims are great revivers. The vege patch is looking very sad indeed. As I went out to water this morning I was greeted with this sight!
Those who know me are aware that I am quite fond of this hibiscus!
Here is the culprit!(We have been puppy sitting!)
Looking as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth!Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!
He has been lovely company for our dog Kobi and very easy to love-despite his puppy antics!
I am off now to ring the garden centre on some advise on how to save the plant-don't really like my chances though:(
Here are some photos of more of the wonderful ornaments and postcards that I received from talented bloggers from around the world. Thank you so much!I would recommend the Christmas swaps I was involved in for next Christmas-they are such good fun!(I know, I know, we are all still recovering from this one and it is too soon to mentioning the "C" word again!!!!)
Happy New Year everyone! May 2008 be filled with joy, peace, love and contentment-with plenty to laugh and smile about along the way :)

Oh Dear .... I think it will be OK just cut back to the first growing bud and give it lots of water love and attention and keep "puppy dear" away from it. It is a lovely one Jenny, and if worst comes to worst ... buy another one the same! Good Luck

Happy New Year to you too! I have to say, that cake looks delicious! Sorry to hear about the hibiscus. I always think of my grandpa when I see hibiscus, he was a mad keen grower of them. Hope you can bring the plant back to life.

Lucky you to live near the beach. We managed to get there on most of the hot mornings, but I'm not prepared to battle the crowds and the lack of parking in the evenings. I guess we are lucky as a friend of ours has a pool so we've been able to swim there a couple of times.
It's so nice to have a little respite - gives me a chance to cool down the house ready for the next onslaught. Oh my, it's gotta go down as one of the hotter summers!
cheers
