This is....the Contents of my Handbag!

Yikes!!!

I have a friend who has often said, "don't forget your anchor!"when referring to my bag and a sister who is convinced I carry bricks in there!Unloading it today was a very useful exercise indeed-a good chance for a bit of a clean out. Thank-you Sharon for this week's suggestion.

I took out all the unneccessary items like the kiwi fruit spoon, soy sauces, shell, movie ticket stubs and a few of the pens. All the rest stays!!!They are useful and nessessary and not very heavy at all!

This is my........Demon!

An interesting and thought provoking suggestion from Drewzel this week. My Demon is...TIME!!

22190235

There is never enough, it goes too quickly, you can never get it back, you can't slow it down or stop it and I am forever wishing for more!!!!

I used my time today to....finish this little fellow-not a white rabbit but a very late one!!

This is....My Creation(in progress)

I have always be drawn to art quilts and have been inspired by this month's issue of Quilting Arts magazine, specifically an article on including found objects and embellishments in your quilts.

I have used fabric that I dyed awhile ago to create haphazard squares and rectangles. The fun part was sorting out all my bits and pieces of beach combing paraphernalia and placing them on the blocks. I have finished one and have three to go before I will assemble them somehow as a wall hanging. I enjoy creating as I go and am not sure how the end product will turn out!

Ready for the stitching.....

And the Heat Goes On (and on and on!)

There are a lot of hot and bothered and grumpy people here in SA!!! Today they announced that we have broken the Australian capital city record for the most hot days over 35C in a row-not just in March but FOREVER!!! I could think of several other types of records which would be more welcome. What about the record for doing what the weather is supposed to do in Autumn or the record for how many people's rainwater tanks are full to the brim or how lush everyone's garden is for this time of year!!!Grumble! Grumble!

Anyway, these things are making me smile today.....

New scrumptious felt from Winterwood.Lovely homemade cards from Annie(a late birthday treat).Marianne's delightful little zine that is just too cute for words and some colourful chopsticks with their individual bags. Ahh! I am feeling much better now!

On the weekend I treated myself to this stunning necklace that I bought from our local monthly market.

I was tagged by The Bird Bath awhile ago to share seven random facts about myself.  Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I am a cool weather person and LOVE to hear rain on our iron roof and walk around the garden after a downpour and smell the good ,clean, earthy, rainy goodness.

2. I have a bit of an obsession with the colour purple and wear something purple most days!

3. I am a qualified Aromatherapist/massage practitioner.

4. I am an animal lover and have been a member of the RSPCA since I was a kid. I am also a member of Fauna Resue(though only financial now). I used to save injured and orphaned wildlife and rehabilitate them. If anyone was going to excavate my old house in years to come they would be puzzled by all of the assortment of animal skeletons buried there! Unfortunately, many of the animals didn't survive so I buried them in the backyard. Possum, birds and lizards were the most prevalent!

4.Every week I buy an easy pick X Lotto ticket and am really surprised each Sunday when I don't receive my call to say I have won!!

5.I travel 42kms each way each day to my school and often have a bit of time waiting at the traffic lights where I get things done! Like...putting on my mascara, cleaning out my purse, making a list of things to do and flossing my teeth!!(sorry to the people who are grossed out by this thought and yes my car is the one with the little white specks on the inside of the windscreen!!!!)

6.When I buy something I have to take the label off STRAIGHT AWAY!!!

7.I am not very good at directions and often used to think my car had been moved or stolen from the shopping centre carpark but really it was in the same place all the time(note the past tense used as I am much better at this now! I do a little check and talk to myself about where it is when I park the car so I can find it more easily. My first car was a bit of a unique looking bomb with a different coloured roof so it kind of stood out in the crowd. Maybe I need a new car!!!)

I have decided not to tag anyone as a lot of people have already done this but please feel free to share your random facts on your blog if you wish to.

I am off to take the beach shelter off the veges now and rejuvenate them with a bucket of water!

This is......Looking out my Front Door!

Lucky_dip_0061

Because of the hot,hot weather the poor garden is struggling. Our watering day is Sunday so at least it got a bit of a drink today. We bought another rainwater tank eight weeks ago and it still hasn't got a drop in it!!!! According to yesterday's paper...."It is the hottest March since 1940 and heatwave to continue!" We are so desperate for rain!

Anyway, as you look out the front door the main plant you see is a weeping rose called Bloomsfield Courage. Years ago when I was renting and didn't have my own garden, I saw a photo in a gardening magazine of this beautiful rose. I cut it out and kept it, always wanting one when I had my own garden. And now we have our very own Bloomsfield Courage! When it is in full bloom it looks quite spectacular.

So today I did the lucky dip-totally randomly using my new funny little chicken feet tongs that I got from my local monthly market yesterday!

This is......my Inspiration Board!(and my 50th post!)

This is my Inspiration Board (I like it's new name!)-full of all sorts of bits and pieces-I just pin things on randomly and then after awhile I have a clean up and a sort out! Some things stay-like my feathers and some special cards-other things get replaced by new treasures. It is also a bit of a "dumping ground" for little things like addresses, business cards, photos and things I can easily lose.Thank you to Pip for suggesting this week's theme.
