Another This is.....
Thanks to Flossy-P and Angela for this week's This is.....which happens to be This is something I got, but still haven't used.....This is my pile of tiles ready to do some Mosaic work that I dream about and have ideas for but I haven't actually done anything yet!! I even have the special tile cutter thingy, grout and glue but that is about as far as I've got!
Another thing that I've had for ages is this beautiful candle made in Africa that I thought was just too lovely to use but now it is out of it's cellophane and all ready for me to take the plunge and light it!
On Saturday my lovely sister and I had a wonderful day doing sisterly things like visiting this art gallery/cafe at McLaren Vale. They had an exhibition of objects painted with henna which was just amazing.
One of my favourites was this paper weight by the visitor's book.
We stopped to have a glass of wine in the garden setting.
Another favourite was these ceramic Babushkas.
Thank goodness for the sanity of weekends!

wow, that henna is beautiful!
you know, I find it hard to light beautiful candles, too.

Your mosiac tiles are really pretty - that is one craft I would like to try as well. The Henna display at the gallery looks really inspiring. How nice to have a day out with your sister.

Oh mosaic tile is something I have always fancied doing - but haven't!
What a wonderful henna exhibit you two saw. That stone is amazing, tho I also like the lights with the hand on them.

Sounds like you had a great time with your sister. My sister is doing well thanks for asking - it will be awhile before she is able to go back to work, but she's home and getting on with things. My other sister is close by to help her to appointments and things. Mosaic fun next holidays hey? You've got some lovely tiles. Did you see that one in the garden with your wine??

ooooh mosaics!!! You should really do that, they're so beautiful!
My mum has soooo many lovely candles. I was helping her move into a new house last year and she was saying "I really love candles, they're all so beautiful, but you can have too many, I mean what do you do with them all?"
I suggested she actually use some ;)
Not sure if she ever did.

It must be a relief to finish the reports - looks like you have some crafty business to get stuck into.

I was reluctant to use pretty candles such as your candle from Africa, until I figured out that I can melt away or carve out just enough of the candles center to fit a tea light candle...those tiny candles that come in either a metal or plastic container. They work just great. Hope you can try this little candle saver trick.

I'm desperate to try mosaics too! I think they are just so beautiful. I'd love some in my garden.
