In the sales after Christmas, we purchased a very "on special" set of saucepans that are just brilliant. However, when buying them we overlooked one thing-metal handles-that we are just not used to. So, I've been on a potholder making frenzy!
They kind of improved as I made more...
I put towelling on the back to add extra thickness..
My friend holidayed in Russia and brought me back my very own purple matryoshka dolls.
Such a happy face..
I then had a go at making a Magic Ball from this book...
That promptly got turned into another pot holder!
Magic Ballz are fun to make!
The last of the lilliums in the garden....
And these pussy willows dancing in the early morning sunshine make me smile!
Just relaxing and enjoying time to potter and ponder. Been walking heaps, sorting heaps and organising heaps. My study/sewing room/junk room room that contains highly important things and many treasures!!! has had a major overhaul. The recycle bin is full, the pile of "stuff" to donate to the op shop is ready to go and my work space is actually spacious rather than clutterful!! Yay-feeling good!
One handy bargain was found at Ray's Outdoors in the fishing section. Everything was reduced and a container that caught my eye was down to $5:00-and then 1/2 price!! So my $2:50 tackle box is now happily housing my embroidery threads that were resembling spaghetti...
I even used the removable dividers to wrap the "enough for next time" bits on!
I have transformed a large used matchbox into a handy holder for little notepaper as I am an avid list writer from way back!
I love to write lists and cross things off as I go. I have even been known to do something that wasn't on the list and add it after!I know! Kind of weird!
I have been marvelling at our beautiful Ficifolia tree that is nearly in full bloom.
The busy bee frenzy is amazing...
You are right Dees! Little creepy crawlies LOVE the dahlias!
And how's this for the biggest garden show off you have ever seen??
I hope your days are filled with good health, joy, happiness and peace. May you laugh often and have plenty of opportunities to create and enjoy doing what makes you smile.
My crafty New Year resolutions are simple this year.....
Use what I have and be less of a hoarder!
Finish some of those UFOs!
Here are some Softies I finished in 2008...
And some other crafty and sewy things...
I am hoping to get stuck into a few projects during the holidays now that the silly season is over.
I have this beautiful quilt hanging on our wall..
It is my Secret Santa gift from the lovely Pamela in the USA. I too was a good girl and waited until Christmas morning to open my package. And what a special, fabulous package it was! I am sure I will use it every Christmas from now on as it does make me smile! Thank you so much Pamela-it is just gorgeous. Thank you too for the extra bonus bits as well-my cheeky Santa, pattern, ribbon and cotton.
Ms Chookyblue you are wonderful! What an amazing Secret Santa Swap it has been again this year. I am in awe of all the lovely and generous goodies from all around the globe that are being so nicely presented on your blog for all to oggle and "oooooo" and "ahhhhh" over! Thank you!
Another thing I am enjoying at the moment is this dahlia flowering in our garden...
I have never grown them before but am now a definite fan! I love watching the flowers unfold! This one is well on it's way.
I am off to have an afternoon nap now because I can!
